Norwegian Coastal Administration, NCA, renews their enrollment within Navelink, governed by Combitech, until at least the end of 2023.
By renewing their Navelink enrollment, the Norwegian Coastal Administration continues to communicate the need for a consensus among the maritime administrations throughout Europe regarding both data exchange security and a common marketplace for maritime services.
The larger number of maritime actors using the same systems, the less fragmented the market becomes. A common marketplace for easily accessible services, interoperable with both authority-approved equipment and with other offered services, leads to cost-efficiency for everyone involved.
The Norwegian Coastal Administration is about to release more new services soon, focusing on VTS services and maritime safety services, such as navigational services.
“NCA will offer credible and qualitative digital information as agreed in the IMO e-navigation solutions”, says Jon Leon Ervik, Head of the Department for Navigation Technology and Pilot Management at the Norwegian Coastal Administration. “The information provided must be user-friendly. It is therefore important for us to develop the services through cooperation with the maritime industry and other maritime authorities.”
